For business customers with 9 10-4 cell phones or more
If your Company has more that nine 10-4 devices and you are taking
advantage of a partner package specific to your organization, managing
your lists and business groups must always be done on-line.
If your Company uses less that nine 10-4 cell phones, please refer to our
section on managing contacts and groups (for
residential and business customers with less than 9 10-4 cell phones).

Steps to manage contacts and business groups
(for business customers with 9 or more 10-4 cell phones)
If your Company has nine or more 10-4 devices activated on a partner
package specific to your organization, you must follow these three steps:
- Identify a person who will be responsible for managing contacts and
business groups within your Company. That person shall be designated as
the Administrator of the 10-4 Services.
- Contact the Customer Service Department at NorthernTel Mobility
using the toll-free number 1 800 776-8350. Our Customer Service
Representative will issue a user’s name and a password that will allow
you to use the tool for managing contacts and business groups on-line
called: Contact Management Web Tool.
- Manage your contacts and business groups using the Contact
Management Web Tool. Only the designated administrator can use the 10-4
managing tool on-line.
| Note: Any change made to the Company Lists
of Contacts using the Contact Management Web Tool is automatically
updated for the users when they connect to the 1X Network of
NorthernTel Mobility or of one of its partners (every 90 minutes or
when the cellphone is opened). |
What is the Contact Management Web Tool for the 10-4 Service?
The Contact Management Web Tool for the 10-4 Service is a Web database for
managing lists of business contacts of companies that have 9 or more 10-4
devices activated on a partner package of their own.
This tool allows Administrators to download the Company’s contacts on the
10-4 devices of their employees. Those contacts can include users of the
10-4 Service within the Company or outside users having the same type of
devices (i.e. suppliers).
The Contact Management Web Tool is accessible on this site:
www.interaction.bell.ca. NorthernTel Mobility shares this site with Bell,
our 10-4 Service provider on-line.
| Note: Any change made to the Company’s Lists
of Contacts using the Contact Management Web Tool is automatically
updated for the users when they connect to the 1X Network of Bell
anywhere in Canada, and anywhere in the United States through the
Sprint 1X Network (every 90 minutes or when the cellphone is
opened). |
What is a Company Master List?
The Company Master List is a resource that is accessible only by 10-4
Administrators. It is not sent directly to members on that list.
The Master List is generated automatically. It contains accesses for each
10-4 Service user whose account is directly billed to the Company’s
account (Company sponsored access).
The Master List also includes accesses for every user of the 10-4 Service
in the Company’s hierarchy and who pay their account on an individual
basis or choose to join the Company Master List (access paid by the
employee). Also, the list allows the Administrators to download selected
contacts into the 10-4 cellphones of anyone on the Master List, through
Sublists and through Group lists.

What is a Company Sublist?
A Company Sublist is an efficient way for a 10-4 Administrator to send
10-4 numbers to employees’ cellphones.
Administrators assign related users to a Sublist (for example, “Sales
Staff”), and all of the contacts on the Sublist are sent to each member’s
10-4 phone. Employees may be members of more than one Company Sublist. If
a user is assigned to more than one Sublist, his or her name will still
appear only once in the Company Lists of other Sublist members.

What is a Company Group?
A Company Group provides a quick way for an employee to make a
“one-to-many” call to all other members of a group.
These administrator-created groups of up to five 10-4 contacts are
automatically pushed to the handsets of all members of the group. An
employee may be a member of many different Company Groups at any given
time, provided his or her 10-4 Phone has enough storage space remaining. A
Company Group can contain contacts from the Company Master List as well as
contacts added manually by the administrator.
